Storing-guns-in-attic, hey guys i'm running out of storage space for all my guns/ ammo and i was thinking about clearing some space in the attic and hanging them on a pegboard wall. i live in nc, it gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter, especially in the attic. i realize that the cold probably wont be a problem but will the heat effect the guns/ammo at all? it gets up to 100f sometimes and its probably well .... There are two types of attics. 1. open to the outside air attic: bad idea to store guns here, they will deteroriate over time. 2. closed to the outside air attic: ok to store here as long as the temp and humidity are kept stable., probably the worst place to store a gun. huge temp. and humidity swings daily will promote rust and isn't nice to wood. i don't recommend it at all..
